I get asked by friends, family and many of you out there, how I get my foundation to look flawless. Believe me it hasn’t always and I have many pictures, which I rather not share, where it has been less than flawless!
However, over the years, I have tested many foundations, brushes, sponges, primers, powders to get me to where I am today, which is a fairly long lasting flawless base.
Before I get into my routine and what I use, it is important and I mean extremely important to ensure your skincare routine is spot on. Without looking after your skin, it will be near enough impossible to get that flawless base. Watch this space for my updated skincare routine which helps me achieve the skin I am now in love with.
I am a huge sucker for moisturisers and facial oils, but at the same time I won’t get sucked into any product, just because it is being hyped up on social media. Because I have sensitive skin, and over the last couple of years, managed to get it to a really good place, I am even more fussy about what I let my skin drink up.
Since I was in high school, I was a massive fan of The Body Shop. I always felt their products were, ‘what you see is what you get’ and that is most certainly what they are. But of late, I had forgotten about how great their products really are and decided to check out their Vitamin E range.
You may or may not know, but Vitamin E is amazing for the skin. It is great for protecting you from premature ageing and protecting your skin from UV damage and pollution. This is perfect for me; living in London and most large cities, your skin is subjected to more damage than you realise.
I like to keep my day time moisturiser light, with a habit of using oils for my night time regime. I like the feeling of not clogging up my skin too much during the day so I stick to a light moisturiser and given I am also wearing makeup and spending two hours a day travelling in and out of London, this product works wonders. I then love the feeling that my skin is being nourished and repaired by a silky oil whilst I sleep.
I find this day cream lightweight and it absorbs so easily into my skin making it even easier for me to prime my skin and continue with a smooth and light makeup application. It feels refreshing and looks radiant almost immediately and I now use this daily without fail.
As mentioned earlier, I like to treat my skin to a nourishing oil. I feel like my skin goes through so much during the day, that it deserves to be pampered and looked after whilst I sleep and boy do I notice it. I am in love with this oil and enjoy applying it after my night time cleansing routine. I wake up looking refreshed and glowing, with this oil allowing my skin to soak up the lightweight moisture it brings. As an oil/serum this product is lightweight and non-greasy which is perfect for my problematic skin.
I love how these two products work hand in hand together, knowing that my skin is being protected during the day and pampered and repaired during the night.
Have you used either or both? Do you have any other favourites from The Body Shop? Let me know!
These products are not sponsored, purchased with my own money and I am simply just sharing how much I enjoy using them :)
I purchased Mario Badescu Whitening Mask about 6 months ago, having stumbled across the brand on the internet. I was really excited to come across Mario Badescu and his products and can say, this mask is one of the best masks I have ever purchased.
One product and it’s reviews that stood was the Mario Badescu Whitening Mask. Now, as the name suggests, you may think this is a skin bleaching mask….it is definitely not that. This product has been specially formulated for those that have uneven skin tones, dullness and discolouration from the sun or old acne scars. As some of you may know, I had a bad bout of acne last year, which is now under control, but I had been left with some awful scars that really got me down. I was constantly looking for new remedies and products but at the same time, I was being very careful with what I was putting on my skin, with the fear of another breakout.
Oh how I have missed posting on here and I am so glad I am finally getting round to getting back to my little blogging world. My laptop broke, work got crazy, life got crazier, but now I am back and ready to start sharing some exciting things with you.
I have been itching to fill you in on my new acne routine. Hands down, I would say this is probably the most life changing part of my beauty routine. I recently went back to the doctor as I was getting fed up with breakouts that weren’t clearing and each breakout causing me more scaring. I just wasn’t winning. I was a little hesitant as the medications I have used in the past have stopped working as well as some that have caused a lot of irritation to my already sensitive skin.
