How I get flawless foundation coverage…

I get asked by friends, family and many of you out there, how I get my foundation to look flawless.    Believe me it hasn’t always and I have many pictures, which I rather not share, where it has been less than flawless!

However, over the years, I have tested many foundations, brushes, sponges, primers, powders to get me to where I am today, which is a fairly long lasting flawless base.

Before I get into my routine and what I use, it is important and I mean extremely important to ensure your skincare routine is spot on.  Without looking after your skin, it will be near enough impossible to get that flawless base. Watch this space for my updated skincare routine which helps me achieve the skin I am now in love with.

So lets get to it.

The Body Shop – Vitamin E – Product Review

I am a huge sucker for moisturisers and facial oils, but at the same time I won’t get sucked into any product, just because it is being hyped up on social media.  Because I have sensitive skin, and over the last couple of years, managed to get it to a really good place, I am even more fussy about what I let my skin drink up.

Since I was in high school, I was a massive fan of The Body Shop. I always felt their products were, ‘what you see is what you get’ and that is most certainly what they are.   But of late, I had forgotten about how great their products really are and decided to check out their Vitamin E range.

You may or may not know,  but Vitamin E is amazing for the skin.  It is great for protecting you from premature ageing and protecting your skin from UV damage and pollution.  This is perfect for me; living in London and most large cities, your skin is subjected to more damage than you realise.

I like to keep my day time moisturiser light, with a habit of using oils for my night time regime.  I like the feeling of not clogging up my skin too much during the day so I stick to a light moisturiser and given I am also wearing makeup and spending two hours a day travelling in and out of London, this product works wonders.  I then love the feeling that my skin is being nourished and repaired by a silky oil whilst I sleep.

My two staples at the moment are….

Day Cream – Vitamin E Moisture Cream

I find this day cream lightweight and it absorbs so easily into my skin making it even easier for me to prime my skin and continue with a smooth and light makeup application.  It feels refreshing and looks radiant almost immediately and I now use this daily without fail.

Night Oil – Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil

As mentioned earlier, I like to treat my skin to a nourishing oil.  I feel like my skin goes through so much during the day, that it deserves to be pampered and looked after whilst I sleep and boy do I notice it.  I am in love with this oil and enjoy applying it after my night time cleansing routine.  I wake up looking refreshed and glowing, with this oil allowing my skin to soak up the lightweight moisture it brings.  As an oil/serum this product is lightweight and non-greasy which is perfect for my problematic skin.

I love how these two products work hand in hand together, knowing that my skin is being protected during the day and pampered and repaired during the night.

Have you used either or both? Do you have any other favourites from The Body Shop? Let me know!

Banishing Cellulite – My Tips

Cellulite – probably the one problem us girls battle all our lives but don’t actually ever conquer it.  Am I right?  You are not alone.  But did you know, men also suffer from the same condition?  Maybe not as obvious or problematic as us ladies, but they are still affected by it, even if it is slightly.  Oh and celebrities, please do not think that celebrities do not suffer from ugly cellulite, because they sure do!  So before I continue, I hope that makes you feel a little better.

I myself, do have cellulite but to be honest it’s not really bothered me and I haven’t let it bother me, but for some reason, I am intrigued on how I can banish it and have made it my little project to improve the texture of my skin in my problematic areas, mainly thighs and bum area.

I have been researching some things that will help me, some are of course obvious but others are tried and tested products by me with my honest opinion.  So let me know what you think.

Lemons – and why I can’t live without them

Lemon

Lemons? And why can’t I live without them?  So I have been obsessed with lemons for the past year and here are two reasons why.

1. I squeeze half a lemon into a tall glass of warm water every morning. I drink this slowly at my desk whilst checking emails.  I have noticed that I feel refreshed, cleansed and somehow I really do feel like it is detoxing my system.  One thing is for sure, it makes me visit the ladies more often but that is a good thing as it means it really is flushing out all the toxins and my insides feel all nice and sparkly again : )   It has also improved the condition of my skin.. I suffer from acne, and I feel drinking lemon water every morning has helped clear up my complexion.

2.  I rub half a lemon into my skin at night before I go to bed. Or I squeeze the juice into a round cotton pad and dab it onto problem areas where I may have scars. I am carful not to dab onto open wounds as it can sting, but sometimes I just go ahead and do it anyway as I feel like it really does cleanse my skin, I can take the pain ; ) The lemon juice help kill bacteria and is also a natural lightening agent, therefore really helps with lightening my acne scars.

Let me know if you can’t live without lemons just like me, what you use them for and is there anything else I can use them for beauty/health wise? Thanks for reading.. I’ll see you soon. X.O.
